Bowie must-see exhibition!
If you're going to be in London this summer, you won't want to miss the exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum!

23 March – 28 July 2013. The V&A has been given unprecedented access to the David Bowie Archive to curate the first international retrospective of the extraordinary career of David Bowie. David Bowie is will feature more than 300 objects that include handwritten lyrics, original costumes, fashion, photography, film, music videos, set designs and Bowie's own instruments.

Many of the items on display have never been shown to the public before! They are also producing a limited-edition book of the exhibition (which I'm assuming is only for the wealthiest fans, as a price is not listed).

Edit: There will be a cheaper version of the book after all! Check Amazon (Barnes and Noble has it too) for the $30-$50 version. Preorder starts now!

A self-portrait (click for full size). There are some more high-res photos on the website!

I just posted to ask about that, it was the first I heard. As if I didn't want to go to London bad enough. Such a wealth of birthday presents for the fans, eh?

Well, if there's a good excuse to go to London, this is probably it! Think you might go?

Doubt it. I'd love to, but sure can't afford it.

I've been REALLY looking forward to this for months now, it's been getting quite a lot of press over here. I read somewhere it was expected to sell out (you have to book tickets), now with the new album etc I guess it will sooner rather than later. It's going to be amazing, I'm only about an hour from London so expect pictures!

Facebook had this picture a few months ago - how cool does it look?

Can't wait!

Oh, lucky lucky you! See if you can't sneak in a video camera too, hmm? ;)

I'll clear out my camera memory card before I go! ;)

I'm about an hour from London too, and have been planning to go. There's a Ltd. Ed book that's 395 pounds (eeek!) but it includes a litho pic signed by Bowie. There's also a non-signed hardback that you can pre-order on Amazon that's under 30 pounds.

I'm trying to work out if I can afford to become a V&A member, it's not huge money but since I only want to so I can go to the special talk on the exhibition... works out at nearly 80 quid for an hour long talk... not huge money, but I bought Speed of Life in a moment of indulgent weakness and I'm trying to be good.

Ooo, thank you for the info on the books! I was hoping there would be a cheapy version.

I'm going, can't wait! Didn't realize you'd need to book tickets advance so I'm glad I saw this post.
